Town Ranger
The Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) is an entity of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM) established to drive the economic and urban regeneration of the Central Business Districts (CBDs) of Port Elizabeth, Uitenhage and other emerging nodes, has a vacancy for a Town Ranger for the Port Elizabeth CBD.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitoring of appointed MBDA cleansing service provider(s)
Monitoring appointed MBDA security service provider(s)
Management and monitoring of informal traders in the precinct
Liaison with key and relevant stakeholders
Attending relevant stakeholder meetings on behalf of MBDA
Monitoring municipal By-Law transgressions and reporting thereof to relevant stakeholders
Monitoring the condition of properties in the CBD and liasing with property owners
Monitoring and reporting of MBDA/Municipal assets that require repairs and maintenance
General administration
Requirements:
Good communication skills (spoken & written)
Must be self starter; motivated; organised and independent worker; reliable & honest
Possession of a motorcycle/vehicle driver’s license will be an added advantage
Knowledge of municipal By-Laws will be an added advantage

International Leadership Training - Course 2012 – 2013
RED TRADE: Innovative Local/Regional Economic Development and Trade Promotion
Long-Term Training (12 months) in Germany for Participants from SADC
The International Leadership Training programme of GIZ provides a unique innovation and capacity building course for qualified and highly motivated junior executives and managerial personnel from private businesses, or local and regional consultancy and service providers, SME, economic development or spatial planning agencies, related to public service or research institutions in the SADC region.
The programme covers topics like:
1. Introduction to Local and Regional Economic Development (LRED) and Trade Promotion (TP)
2. Understanding underlying concepts and approaches of LRED and TP
3. LRED and TP as part of private sector development and change facilitation
The next intake for this course will be in August – November 2011.

You will be first sent a form on your "PROFILE" which you are kindly requested to fill in and submit it to GIZ together with a "MOTIVATION LETTER" explaining your reasons to apply for this training programme and a "SUPPORT LETTER" signed by your employer.
