MBDA Statement: MBDA acts to uphold governance and accountability

RE: The Herald front page: How a R300k Film Office launch became a R2.8m boxing bill.

The Herald newspaper today (1 October 2026) has published a story under the headline above. We can confirm that a Forensic report is being processed by the Accounting Officer and the Board of the entity, and that a submission was made to the Shareholder representative at the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.

While due process is underway, all implicated people are presumed innocent until proven otherwise. To preserve the integrity of the investigation process, the MBDA will offer no commentary on the matter, except to say that the Board and management are committed to ensuring that good governance prevails.
