PRECAUTIONERY SUSPENSION OF FINANCE MANAGER – Interim CEO statement
STATEMENT BY MBDA INTERIM CEO, PIERRE VOGES ON PRECAUTIONERY SUSPENSION OF FINANCE MANAGER PENDING FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS AND DISCIPLINARY PROCESSES
On Monday 26th October 2026, the Board of the MBDA resolved to place the MBDA Finance Manager on precautionary suspension effective on Tuesday 27th October 2026. This action follows the deliberations of the Board on the Forensic Investigation on allegations of policy and regulatory breaches related to the handling of the NMB Film Office launch and Boxing event held at the NMB Stadium on the 6th of June 2026. At a time of the event, the official was the acting Stadium Manager and acting Chief Executive Officer of the MBDA.
The Board has taken this precautionary step to give both the official, and the entity sufficient space for the relevant processes to proceed unhindered. It is pertinent to emphasise that the precautionary suspension of the official is not a finding of guilt as the official is presumed innocent. The entity requests all stakeholders to allow this process to unfold without interference, and to that end, the entity will not run ongoing commentary during the process until the matter is concluded by a competent platform.
In the coming days, the entity will also be unveiling several initiatives taken to restore stability, accelerate the rollout of city infrastructure maintenance, and targeted interventions aimed at revitalising commercial activities at the NMB Stadium.
