TENDERING AND PRICING TRAINING EQUIPS SMMEs TO COMPETE AND GROW
We came away from three days of Tendering and Pricing training at the Nelson Mandela Bay Science & Technology Centre feeling inspired and energized. The training, hosted by the Mandela Bay Development Agency and supported by the Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency (SEDFA) was aimed at giving local EME’s and SMME’s the tools to compete fairly and profitably in the formal economy.
Practical sessions taught the emerging contractors how to complete tender documents correctly, and helped them to understand compliance, pricing and negotiation. The workshops covered how to avoid common disqualifying errors, and how to price their work accurately to ensure that they remain competitive while still making a profit.
When small businesses are able to tender confidently, owners are able to grow their companies and create work opportunities for others.
The Mandela Bay Development Agency invests in opportunities like this to empower small business owners, increase their access to market, and ensure that local entrepreneurs can take their place in Nelson Mandela Bay’s development story.
Local Economic Development is truly supported when local businesses have the knowledge, tools and access to take up opportunities in their own city.
