The MBDA converted two Tuk‑Tuks into solar‑powered units as part of its Smart City initiative. These vehicles were used for tourism services and outreach programmes. Phase two included plans for a solar charging station and piloting e‑bike tours in the Baakens Valley, with opportunities for SMEs to manage the tours. Nelson Mandela University partnered on the project, providing technical support and assessments.
