Happy Valley

The Happy Valley programme forms parts of the Bayworld Precinct redevelopment. Project plans aim to create a mixed‑use precinct for recreation, tourism, residential, retail, entertainment, and commercial activity. The vision is to attract diverse communities and encourage broader use of the area.

The Happy Valley project will focus on reviving the area as a public walkway accessible to all users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and wheelchair users.

The proposed design incorporates art and storytelling, with a central sculpture and 17 creative pieces inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Play areas, interactive benches, and learning zones will be created for children.

Facilities will include gathering spaces such as an amphitheatre, a chapel, picnic areas, cafés, and open lawns for events. Restored green spaces will feature stormwater gardens, eco‑trails, and other conservation elements. Safety features and lighting will safeguard use at all times of day and night.n

Technology enhancements, including soundscapes and augmented reality, are planned to connect local heritage with broader audiences.
