Nelson Mandela Bay agency, Boomtown, supported by the Mandela Bay Development Agency, has assisted National Glass in launching a corporate social initiative specifically targeting the youth in Gqeberha’s Northern Areas.

People of diverse cultures and traditions have long told undocumented stories about how deeply connected human beings are to the ocean. In the process of redeveloping the Bayworld and Happy Valley Precinct, the Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) and Bayworld are calling all citizens of Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) to share an interesting story of their connection with the sea. We are looking for a unique, and interesting cultural connections that different ethnicities have with the ocean These stories will be part of a Bayworld documentary that will capture people’s diverse cultural connection/disconnection with the sea and the sea creatures.

There is a TV series called The Vow which shows how easily cults attract members from all parts of society regardless of wealth, levels of education or social status. Influential and resourceful people are targeted to provide credibility and access to their networks. This TV series shows that even the Dalai Lama’s benign endorsement was abused. No one consciously joins a cult and many are ensnared through their own vulnerabilities and social uncertainties because of the comfort and support provided by seemingly well meaning support.

The publicly acclaimed annual Kulture Kapital festival is extending from 3-day to an extensive 7-day festival due to efforts of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality and the Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) attempting to revitalize the Bay with arts and culture whilst empowering various artists.

The Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) in association with Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s (NMBM) Waste Management led members of the community and stakeholders in a Central clean up and recycling awareness campaign on the 13th of May 2021 at the Donkin Reserve.
