People of diverse cultures and traditions have long told undocumented stories about how deeply connected human beings are to the ocean. In the process of redeveloping the Bayworld and Happy Valley Precinct, the Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) and Bayworld are calling all citizens of Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) to share an interesting story of their connection with the sea. We are looking for a unique, and interesting cultural connections that different ethnicities have with the ocean These stories will be part of a Bayworld documentary that will capture people’s diverse cultural connection/disconnection with the sea and the sea creatures.
