Significant water supply interruptions in parts of the Metro unavoidable

The Metro wishes to inform residents that owing to the high consumption rate, currently at 270ml/d, 40ml/d over the 230ml/d target, and the National Department extraction restrictions, western parts of the city are likely to experience intermittent water supply.

Nelson Mandela Bay Water users urged reduce water consumption heading into weekend

On Wednesday the 12th of July, the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality will take its efforts at galvanising public awareness to the streets of the Bay. The launch of the blitz will see Metro teams out in morning peak traffic, handing out much needed water saving information and equipping citizens on the appraoches to push back day zero.

Whenever I am out of town, and someone asks me where I am from, before I answer, my dilemma kicks in; do I want to say I am from Port Elizabeth, my home since 1994, or do I want to say Komani, my birthplace. 04 July 2022, The Executive Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay, Cllr Eugene Johnson presided over the commissioning of the Kwanobuhle Pumpstation, an intervention started by the Metro in July 2021 to mitigate the persistent seven-year drought-induced water crisis.
