Community compact to secure the future of Korsten-Schauderville projects

The Mandela Bay Development Agency held a Stakeholders Dialogue to discuss the Korsten Schauderville Master Plan at Dorothea Jansen Hall on the 21st of April. Over 150 community members representing different sectors which include Sports Clubs, SMME`s, Disabled, ECDC, Churches, NPO`s, Youth Organisations, Community Police Forum, and the South African Police Services were present.

The Board, Management and staff of the Mandela Bay Development Agency, an entity of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, are deeply saddened by the passing of Chairperson, Ms Mandlakazi Skefile. The news of Skefile’s passing came in the early hours of Friday the 15th of April.

MBDA dedicates a week to recognize strides made by the German funded SPUU programme, delivered by the Agency on behalf of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.

The Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) is recognizing strides made in Helenvale via the Safety and Peace through Urban Upgrading (SPUU) programme and will do so by dedicating a series of activities during the #HelenvaleWeek from the 4th to the 9th of April 2022.

Looking for hope in dystopia

In addition to working as a marine geophysicist, my son volunteers as a wildfire fighter. Recently they were called out to assist late at night to deal with a controlled burn that went out of control. The volunteers in charge described what to expect and provided instructions on how to fight the fire based on that knowledge. When they got to the infernal pine forest it was not burning as expected, but worse. He described the situation as those of Californian wildfires - dystopian.
