PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR A NEW DEVELOPMENT AT THE ST PETERS PRECINCT The MBDA requires services of a Registered Professional Engineer ONLY to design platforms and timber decking, advise on SANS and Green building practices, acquire necessary approvals from local authorities and compile a Request For Proposals with detailed specifications for fully serviced converted containers. The successful service provider will be required to do the following: • Prepare detailed specifications and drawings that will be required for the platforms and the timber decking to receive the converted containers and ablution facilities, including connections to access existing infrastructure. • Prepare RFP for fully serviced converted containers (including municipal approval for designs and infrastructure connections i.e. water, sewer, electrical etc.) with Green construction elements. • Supervise and approve the earthworks / platform and decking construction. NOTE: 1. Architectural services will be provided in-house by the MBDA 2. The Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) is a municipal entity that was established in 2004 by the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM) to introduce urban renewal projects and initiatives into the inner cities and various emerging and developing nodes of the Nelson Mandela Bay (which comprises Port Elizabeth, Uitenhage and Despatch). As part of its mandate it is also the Project Execution Agency for the NMBM in respect of the Helenvale Safety and Peace through Urban Upgrading (SPUU) programme, a foreign donor funded project of KfW Bank in Germany and which forms part of a government to government financial cooperation agreement between Germany and South Africa. The MBDA hereby wishes to invite suitably qualified and experienced service providers in the auditing field to undertake the scope of work outlined below.
