MBDA commemorates an unsung hero

The Mandela Bay Development Agency will commemorate a young unsung hero, Nomvume Mnyazi on the 21st of October between 12:00 and 14:00 at the Mendi Arts Centre in New Brighton. Mnyazi, was a young learner from Red Location, who attended Newell High school and later went to Cowan High school where she died as the first casualty of the Port Elizabeth 1976 students uprising. She was gunned down at Mendi Road, New Brighton.

New Brighton schools launch a recycling and food security programme

The Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) launched the Green Schools Challenge with 9 participating New Brighton Schools at the Mendi Art Centre at 09:00am on Friday, the 30th of September 2022. This initiative is a follow-up on an intensive five-day clean-up in May earlier this year, when private and public sector joined hands to combat illegal dumping in the area.
